Ozarks Community Health Center (OCHC), community members, and partnering agencies are hosting “A Foster Care Simulation-Can You Survive a Month in Foster Care?” that will allow participants to experience some of the challenges our children in care, foster families, and related professionals face during a case.

This will be held Friday, May 5, from 9:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Prairie Chapel Church in Urbana. Lunch will be provided. Information and registration can be done at https://ozarkschc.com/whats-happening/

Participants will be assigned to a role on a case (either a child, parent, foster parent, or support agency) and will have to navigate the various challenges presented with limited space for active observers.

“Our goal is to personally invite key influencers in our community, like yourself, to come experience and learn how each of us can have a significant impact in the lives of vulnerable children. We would be honored to have you participate in this event,” said a representative. “Join us on this journey to see if you have the resiliency and creativity to not only survive the experience, but to help create the best possible outcome for those involved, and explore the many resources that our community has to offer.”
