These images of Hickory County Presiding Commissioner Robert Sawyer visiting Dorman Bridge were taken on Monday, Feb. 9, as he stopped by to view ongoing construction efforts. Sawyer pointed out how the crews were busy building a working road across the river so they could travel from side to side while construction is underway. He also noted that the front section of the old bridge is likely the part that will be preserved and there are plans to display it in Hermitage near the Ole Hickory Building. This project began last week and is expected to take 120 days. The roadway closed to traffic.
