The next Thursday Night Cruise In and Ice Cream Social, sponsored by Carson’s Corner Cruises and Hibachi Ice Cream Company, will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, July 17, on the Hermitage Town Square. These are the third Thursday of each month, The Wheatland Harvest Festival’s Cruise Night will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at Gigi’s Cafe on Main Street. These run on the first Thursday of every month in Wheatland.
Both feature a number of family friendly activities celebrating the spirit of Summer in the Ozarks. During each free Cruise In, vehicles line up around the town squares and visitors come by to view a collection of classic cars and trucks and enjoy treats from local businesses. Guests are able to listen to a selection of oldies, classic rock, country and other fun pieces of American music that hearken back to a simpler time, while kids play in bounce houses and inflatables.
Remaining Hermitage Cruise Ins for this year are Thursday, July 17, August 21 and September 18. Wheatland’s last one, other than Aug. 7, will be on Sept. 4, about a week before this year’s Wheatland Harvest Festival on Sept. 19-21. Don’t forget to also participate in the 100 Mile Garage Sales going on in Wheatland and around the community, off Highway 54, on Labor Day weekend.
