The Matilda Polk Campbell Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will hold its monthly meeting in Bolivar on Saturday, Feb. 21.
According to Alice Kugler, Regent, the highlight will be the recognition of the winners of the Chapter’s recent essay contest and the reading of their essays. Two new DAR members have also had recently had applications approved by the NSDAR. Treats for Troops were delivered by the Chapter to the USO at Ft. Leonard Wood this month and packets of vegetable and herb seeds are being collected for the Hindman Settlement School project in Kentucky.
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is a patriotic service organization for women who can trace their lineage to a Revolutionary Patriot, someone who provided material benefit to the Revolutionary cause. The local chapter is very active in community service, preserving history, educating children, as well as honoring and supporting those who serve our nation. All meetings are open and free.
