The Hickory County Traditions Committee will host the annual Hermitage Christmas parade this Saturday, Nov. 29, on the Square in Hermitage.
Children can come and visit with Santa Claus at the gazebo at the Hickory County Courthouse at 3:30 p.m. and bring their letters to Santa, which may appear in The Index.
The parade will begin at 5 p.m., with line up at 4 p.m. The route will travel all around the Square, beginning from Hermitage School and down Polk Street before turning onto Spring Street and then back to the school. Several prizes will be awarded, including for first place religious, non religious and non-float categories.
Following the parade will be a toy and ham give away.
This is the officials kick off to the Christmas holiday season in Hickory County.
