Toni was born in Newark, NJ to Russell and Mary Humphreys.
Toni married the love of her life, Daniel F. Pitt, on February 10, 1971. They welcomed three children: Diana Pitt of Wheatland, MO, Shanan Pitt of Wheatland, MO, and Daniel (and Stina) Pitt of Springfield, MO.
Toni has two sisters, Sarah and Jennie, 2 granddaughters: Sarah Darby (and Kyle) of Halfway, MO, and Skylar Charity Hope Casares of Columbia, SC, 2 grandsons: Elijah Martinez and Kendrick Darby.
Mary Antoinette Pitt was known to everyone as Toni. She was loved by many, as she loved many. She would take on families that were like her own.
Toni worked in the Wheatland School district as a teacher for the Special Education program, but all her life, even living in New York, she took care of the children and adults of special needs.
The one testament of her life is that she loved Jesus. She would tell everyone that she came across about the love of Jesus, what he has done, and who he was and is. She wanted as many souls saved as possible.
This led to her taking families as her own. Robin Claunch and her family became her adopted kids and grandkids.
Toni loved being out in her gardens. She loved to plant, have her worship music on, sitting outside just embracing the beauty of the Lord.
Toni is preceded in death by her mother, Mary, and her father, Russell, along with her sister, Sarah VanTassell, grandson, Noah Zumwalt, and her husband of 54 years, Daniel Pitt.
She leaves her daughters, Diana Pitt, Shanan Pitt, and Robin Claunch, sons, Daniel Pitt, Dewayne Cauble, and Mitchell King, granddaughters and grandsons, great granddaughters and great grandsons, her sister-in-law Mary Pitt (and husband Jack) of NY, nieces and nephews, and so many more that will miss her.
Family and friends will miss Toni’s presence here on Earth, but know she is finally home in the arms of Jesus.
