The Pomme de Terre Archeology Society in Hickory County gathered for their monthly meeting Sunday, Sept. 17.

Fifteen members, and a few guests who weren’t members, attended. Attendees were given a variety of refreshments like tea, coffee, soda, homemade snacks, and cookies.

To start the meeting, everyone watched a short film about the first people in the world, which generated discussions afterwards.

As an added bonus, members were offered a plethora of free reading material to take home. After the film, door prizes were handed out, including local honey, literature related to the archeology topic, beautiful flowers, films, and even a one-year free membership to the Missouri Archeology Society.

During the meeting, attendees could both admire arrowheads on display and browse through posters. Additionally, there were shirts and reading material available for purchase, with all proceeds supporting the society, a nonprofit 501c3 organization.

The meeting lasted approximately one hour and forty-five minutes, as is customary for the monthly gatherings that always take place the third Sunday of each month. Furthermore, members can look forward to future meetings with potential guest speakers.
