The Hickory County Commission met Monday, Sept. 11, where the commissioners requested that County Clerk Tamara Weidman reach out to ARPA administrator Paula Shepard to make sure she is receiving receipts for the money that was distributed and entities that have not used all of the funds should return them to the county.
Shannon Stewart with Kaysinger Basin Regional Planning Commission will assist the Hickory County Sheriff’s Office in applying for a 100 percent funded grant opportunity for a 9-1-1 program for Hickory County.
It was noted that next Save the Lake meeting will be Sunday, Oct. 1. With no other matters to discuss, they adjourned at 10:23 a.m.
The Commission reconvened Thursday, Sept. 14, were Sheriff Greg Burke and Head Dispatcher Beverly Ryan explained they had talked to Bill Grant Ford and they are unable to get SUV’s, but can get Ford trucks off the state bid. Corwin Ford told them the same thing. Burke explained it will cost $225 each on running boards for the trucks. They will get the process started for purchasing the trucks out of next year’s budget.
The Commission approved and signed the Progress Invoice No. 2 on BRO-R043(13) Dorman Bridge project. They also approved and signed demand warrants and documents for accounts payable for the beginning of September.
They reviewed and forwarded for file the following office holder’s fees collected for the month of August: Circuit Clerk Cee Cee Smith’s in the amount of $4,582.10; Sheriff’ Burke’s CCW revenue fees in the amount of $136, Civil Service fees in the amount of $930, and General Revenue in the amount of $1,447.48; Recorder Pam Hutton’s in the amount of $8,480. They then reviewed and forwarded for file the county financial statement for August.
