Prairie Chapel creates “Big Rig Fun” event for families

Prairie Chapel Church will host a whole new event Saturday, Sept. 23, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event is called “Big Rig Fun.” The church is inviting everyone, particularly those with children, who likes to explore trucks, tractors, construction and city vehicles, to get an up close and personal look at these vehicles while speaking with real-life operators.

Kim Childress and Haley Cauthron have teamed up with Skyline and Hermitage’s Parents at Teachers to offer this free community event. There will be resource tables set up for parents. Some of the agencies that plan to be there include Parents As Teachers, First Steps, Hickory County Health Department, Ozarks Community Health Center, Show Me Romey Foundation, Hickory County 4-H, and Missouri Conservation. Goodie bags will be given out to each child, as well as a sack lunch for those in attendance.

The hope is to make this even an annual activity. For more information contact Childress at 417-326-9405.
